Tiny Oddish Pokemon Amigurumi

Nothings Unimaginable Original Design

This cute pattern allows you to create your own tiny Oddish Pokemon plushie~ perfect for squishing and bringing along on all your real pokemon hunting adventures! This pattern is super quick and easy requiring only single crochet stitch and a little bit of sewing patience!

Materials

• 3 mm crochet hook
• Cotton yarn or any other stiff yarn type
• Pink felt for cheeks
• Various green felt for leaves
• Red yarn or red embroidery thread for eyes
• Polyester toy stuffing

Body

1. Chain 2 sts
2. Make 6 sc in the 2nd chain from your hook (6 sts)
3. 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)
4. *sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat 6 times (18 sts)
5. *sc 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat 6 times (24)
6. Sc 6 rounds
7. *sc 2 sts, sc 2 tog in next st* repeat 6 times (18)
8. Sew on facial features and leaves (see below for instructions ) and start stuffing
9. *sc, sc 2 tog in next st* repeat 6 times (12)
10. Continue stuffing
11. Sc 2 tog around until you only have 4 sts left
12. Stuff last pieces before  your hole gets too small!
13. Slip st into the next st and pull yarn through to cast off

Face

Eyes

• With red yarn or embroidery thread, sew 2 vertical lines going over 2 rows. They should be situated around 7 sts apart on the bottom of the 5th row- 7th row

Cheeks

You can either make felt cheeks or crocheted cheeks, both are simple!

• Cut 2 circles of pink felt around 1.5 cm and attach them just below the eyes with a simple horizontal st.

Or

• Chain 2 sts then make 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook & cast off.

Leaves

• Using light and dark green felt, cut 3 dark green leaves and 2 light green leaves of various sizes
• Arrange them into a fan shape, changing the layout until your happy. Make note of your final arrangement.
• Taking one leaf at a time, use a simple stitch (with embroidery thread in a similar colour to the leaves) to attach the leaf to the top of the head. All the leaves together should not span more than 4 rows and the 3rd leaf in the arrangement should be right in the middle of the head.
• Make your stitches quite small, so you can’t see them clearly when you're finished. You should make 2-3 stitches in each leaf.

Fluffy Boi

I have been a BTS fangirl since I was 13... I really should be stopped. I have also recently become a huge lover of Tumblr artist Ennun, her art is amazingly adorable and squishy and this piece is one called "Get Warm"

I adored the colours she had used and the cutesy style, so tadaaammm... 

I only recently learned this technique of cross stitch/ embroidery by drawing the sketch you'd like to use, then embroidering over the paper, using the sketch as a guideline.

I learnt a lot from this piece mainly

• OMG GET YOURSELF A PAIR OF TINY SCISSORS BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT A PROJECT LIKE THIS. I only had these giant kitchen style scissors and was trying to cut the pieces of paper between the stitches and getting really reeeeallly frustrated

• Make sure your stitches are super tight, as when you cut away the paper, the stitches can get loose which makes the stitches loose and floppy and completely anaesthetic (siiiigh)

• Do yourself a favour and get some nice embroidery cotton for a project like this. I'm used to being in countries where crafting items are virtually nonexistent and ya make do with whatever you have, so I used cross-stitch material which was okay, but it made stitching the design a little harder plus the picture wasn't smooth due to the cross-stitch holes in the fabric. 

But I really love the final product and hope to get a little neater and try again THIS TIME WITH TINY SCISSORS AND THE PROPER FABRIC OKAY.

POMPOM Rug?

This idea came from NIFTY, I saw it on my Facebook feed and thought..
"Hey... pompoms"
"Hey... I like rugs"
"Hey....... POMPOMRUG???!"

I got my wool at HobbyCraft; they have such an amazing array of colours, brands and so MUCH FLUFFY wool (my fav kind ;0). 

I then made the pompoms using the 2-toilet roll-this is such an easy way to make pompoms I feel like I'm cheating at life- method.

It's a good thing I'm still on school holidays because I would not usually have the time for this... and can I say RIP to my rooms carpet. I think I tested the overall patience of my entire family with this project because they were the ones who had to keep cleaning the infinite trails of wool I was leaving as I was making all the pompomsss

In the end, I can say I'm quite happy with the final product. I'm unsure how long term the rug will be, it's certainly more of a decorative piece than a useful creation, as the pompoms are only secured lightly and pompoms themselves are not the most durable creation.

However, I would like to takes this opportunity for a round of PROTIPS that I learnt through this project that may help you in your own DIY pompom rug adventure.

1. Be very careful with the type of wool you choose to make the pompoms with. I choose a velvet/fluffy lilac wool yet, when you pull on the strands, the fibres fall off and the wool falls apart. Fluffy wool can also be messy as everytime you fluff/mess/move it, pieces fall off leaving a trail of woolly awesomeness all over your floor, which some people may just not appreciate. 

2. I was slightly upset with the shape of the pompoms using the toilet roll method, instead of being round and ball shaped, they were more like disks, with the sides not being fluffy/long enough to produce a nice round circle shape, even once I had shaped and cut all the pieces. If this bothers you as it bothered me, I would suggested making the pompoms the traditional way, with 2 circular pieces of cardboard. Of course, this will take a whoooooole lot longer but the end result would be overall more aesthetically pleasing.

3. In addition to the pompoms not being 100% roundish perfection, the 2 pieces of string you use to tie the pompoms to the non-sticky mat or in the wrong position on the pompom when using the toilet roll method. The side of the pompom you would see is not the round, flat side of the pompom but the more narrow and skinnier side which means you would need a tonne more pompoms to get the same result, plus the rug would be a lot fatter and not as nice to step on. 

4. Make sure you super securely secure your pompoms on the non-stick mat, tie them more than once otherwise the pompoms are too free to roam and they will roam, which will be annoying in the long run as you will be constantly re-arranging them to make sure you can't see the non-stick mat at the back.

5. PACK THEM POMPOMS TIGHT. Make lots of pompoms, more than you think you'll need. Make backup pompoms to be sure. When attaching the pompoms, make sure there isn't space between them as this will result in the non-stick mat being visible. Also, as I found, sometimes I had to make extra pompoms because the first was too small/big and looked funny in the mat.

Crochet Puppycat Phone case (pattern)

I’m supa mega clumsy with my phone and even with the screen protected, I have far too many scratches ヽ(●ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ●)ﾉﾟ…

Solution: DIY KAWAII PHONECASEU <3

I’m the biggestest fan of Puppycat from Bee and Puppycat

I’ve even already made myself a puppy cat plusshhhhh 

So I decided to make a phone case inspired by this cuutiee

CROCHET PHONECASE

Made with 4mm crochet hook, white & light chocolate brown yarn

To make case

I made this case for an iPhone 5s, however you can adjust the pattern to your phone by simply adding/subtracting stitches from the foundation row. Chain around 20 stitches then place the first chain on the side of your phone and make a circle around the phone. The stitches shouldn’t be stretched and its okay is its a little loose as it’ll help you slide the phone in and out easily.

• Chain 22 stitches (in white)
• Join to make a circle
• Sc in every st around
• Sc 25 rows (or more, depending on how long your phone is)
• Cast off

To make flap

• Decide which side of the phone case is the back
• Join yarn on the left side of the back
• Sc 11 sts across
• Chain 1 and turn
• SC across
• Repeat until you have 11 rows (or longer if you want)
• Cast off
• Sc around the edge of the flap

To make arms

• Chain 2 sts (in chocolate brown)
• Sc 6 sts in the 1st st away from the hook
• Sc 3 rows
• Change colour to white
• Sc 3 rows
• Cast off

To make ears

• Chain 2 sts (in chocolate brown)
• Sc 6 sts in the 1st st away from the hook
• Sc 2 rounds
• *Sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat 6 times (12 sts)
• Sc 2 rounds

Assembly

• Sew in all loose edges
• Attach the ears on row 1 of the flap, so when you place the flap over the phone, the ears are straight up
• Sew the arms on the side at around row 17 of the case. You don’t need to stuff the arms but you can if you want.
• Use black thread to sew eyes and a cutie nose. You can also use felt instead.

Tadaaaang, you are now the owner of the most adorable cat/puppy phone protectooor ヾ(´▽｀;)ゝ. Of course you could adapt this pattern to make hundreds of cute animal fluffballs!

The legs are sooooooo tiny so they might be a little fiddly <3

• Sc 5 stitches in 2nd chain from hook
• Sc 2 rounds
• Slip stitch into next stitch and pull will through the stitch, casting off
• Sew legs into place (stuffing is optional)

Eyes and body patterns

• For the eyes, cut 2 circles of black felt, the diameter for my eye circles was around 3cm
• Cut a thin strip of black felt for the piece between the eyes, measuring around 5.5cm
• Cut 2 circles of grey felt with diameter 3cm
• Cut 2 roundish rectangles of grey felt for markings on his body

Once you have all your felt pieces, either sew or use glue to attach the pieces.

The eyes should sit just in the middle of the face :D

If you want, cut 2 pieces of light pinkish felt around 2cm in diameter for cheekssss <3
